My Approach

Research has continually shown that it is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client that makes therapy effective, so it is important to find the right person. With a foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship, grounded in compassion, genuineness and attention, I wish to help my clients understand themselves better and therefore gain understanding in how they communicate within their world and take control over any unhelpful and limiting thinking.

In order for my clients to move forward in a healthy way, I have found that it is important to help them restore and rebalance their lives alongside the use of helpful tools to facilitate personal development and improvement. An integration of both counselling and coaching can give that opportunity.

Why Integrate

Counselling & Coaching?

Metaphorically speaking, counselling can be seen as strengthening the foundations of a house and coaching as working on the house itself.

Based on both my own experience and that of my clients, I believe that counselling and coaching can be complimentary to each other in the therapy process. I have studied within the Personal Consultancy model for integration of these two approaches. The model is a combination of counselling (to rebalance) and coaching (enabling growth) techniques and offers full scope for you as the client to explore, identify, restore and bring long-lasting change.

How we approach this together will be discussed in your initial assessment. My aim is to help you create a solid foundation and together we can build a sound-structured house on top.

TESTIMONIALS

"I started therapy when I was going through a difficult year and needed someone to help and listen. Clare was always attentive, never judgmental and helped me with coping strategies. Looking back on it now I do not know how I would have got to where I am without her support and would recommend therapy to anyone in a similar position." Tom

TESTIMONIALS

"Clare developed a very effective and interesting therapy process for me, which involved facilitating my understanding of the insecurities I hold and how to manage my unhelpful thoughts. A truly rewarding experience, thank you"
