What happens at the initial consultation?

This is an opportunity for us to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy. There is no cost as this is not a therapy session. Rather, it is a time to see if we can work together, what your expectations are and for you to know if I am the right therapist for you.

What happens in a session?

We take each session at a pace you are comfortable with and in a gentle manner. There are no complicated forms, no list of questions, just you and me, responding to what you bring

How often will I see you?

Typically sessions take place once a week at the same time each week. Some clients choose to move to bi-weekly sessions if they are engaged in longer term therapy. All this will be discussed in our initial consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

At the initial consultation, we will decide if we can work together. Most often, I work to an initial six or twelve-week session contract. After this time we will decide whether a further contract would be useful, or if an open-ended arrangement is more suitable. Sessions are reviewed regularly to ensure they are still relevant and beneficial for you.

When can I see you?

I offer sessions from Monday to Saturday between 9am and 8pm. Saturday sessions are in the morning only. We can discuss the most convenient time at your initial consultation.

Where do the sessions take place?

During the current Coronavirus pandemic, in line with guidance I'm working remotely by video or phone call.
In 'normal' circumstances my practice is in north London and is close to Finsbury Park, Crouch End, Highgate and Wood Green.
